May specializes in patent litigation. She has helped clients in a wide variety of industries navigate patent cases from inception through trial, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. May has successfully first-chaired numerous Markman hearings. In addition to her patent litigation experience, May has assisted clients with general commercial litigation and patent prosecution. May’s clients include Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies, Qualcomm and Sprint.
May leverages her extensive technical background as a patent litigator. Prior to attending law school, May worked for over 10 years as a telecommunications hardware engineer for Verizon Laboratories and its predecessor companies. In that capacity, May designed network architectures for advanced telecommunications systems. She is the named inventor on four U.S. patents. May holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, and she graduated from Suffolk University Law School.
